Some weddings simply have a certain special energy that I’m obsessed with as a Southern California wedding planner and designer.
Andrea and Nick’s Buffalo Club wedding with Spanish coastal vibes was one of those celebrations.
Set against the beautiful ambiance of The Buffalo Club in Santa Monica, their wedding was filled with rich color, layered texture, thoughtful details, and custom design elements that made the celebration feel completely their own.
From the floral design to the custom-built details, every element came together to create a wedding that felt elevated without losing its warmth—and when the dance floor opened, the energy followed.
A Wedding Design Rooted in Color & Texture
For Andrea and Nick, the design wasn’t about following a particular trend. It was about creating an atmosphere that felt beautiful, joyful, and reflective of their vision.
Color and texture played a major role throughout the wedding design.
Soft peach roses, vibrant orange marigolds, airy blue blooms, crisp whites, and natural woven textures created a palette that felt both playful and sophisticated.
The combination was especially beautiful against the lush outdoor setting of The Buffalo Club.
This is one of my favorite parts of wedding design: taking individual ideas and weaving them together so the finished celebration feels intentional rather than simply decorated.
Custom Wedding Details Designed Just for Them
As a Southern California wedding planner and designer, this is the kind of detail I love creating.
Rather than choosing something simply because it was available or trending, we created a piece that became part of the overall design—and gave guests a fun experience as they found their table and selected their favor.
Custom design can be such a beautiful way to make a wedding feel personal. Whether it’s a custom-built installation, signage, a statement piece, or a smaller detail guests discover throughout the celebration, these are the elements that can turn a beautiful wedding into a wedding that feels unmistakably yours.
Floral Design That Complements the Celebration
Floral design was another important part of bringing Andrea and Nick’s vision to life.
Rather than treating flowers as separate from the overall wedding design, I approach florals as part of the larger visual story.
Color, texture, scale, placement, and movement all work together to create an atmosphere.
For this celebration, the floral design brought together peach, blue, orange, and white blooms with natural greenery and woven textures. The result felt colorful and joyful while still allowing the beautiful outdoor setting to shine.
Throughout the reception, those same colors and textures continued to appear in the tablescapes, florals, glassware, stationery, and custom details—creating a cohesive design without making everything feel overly matched.
That’s the difference between simply decorating a wedding and thoughtfully designing an experience.
The Little Details Matter, Too
Even the smaller details were given a place within the overall design.
The bar featured a floral arrangement alongside a custom signature drink sign, bringing the same colors, textures, and personality into another part of the guest experience.
These details may seem small individually, but together they help a wedding feel cohesive and considered.

Of course, a wedding isn’t just about how it looks.
It’s about how it feels.
And this one had plenty of feeling.
The beautiful design and outdoor setting created an incredible backdrop, but it was the people, the energy, and the celebration that brought everything to life.
And then came the dance floor.
Let’s just say the dance floor vibes were very real.
Those are the moments I love most—the ones where the design fades into the background and everyone is simply present, celebrating together.
Because ultimately, that’s what all the planning and designing is for.
Not just a beautiful setting.
