Hi friend, I am so happy you are here! My name is Joey and I am the owner and creative force behind Chasing Joy Creations. I live in Orange County (Irvine) with my husband of 26 years and our three young men. My family tribe is my heart. With a house full of boys there's never a dull moment and we've had quite the adventures through the years LOL! I’m a total sucker for love stories, coffee dates, and genuine heart to heart conversations. I'm obsessed with music, road trips, design and of course DIY!

My love for creating began as a little girl. I was always up to something, whether it was climbing up my childhood Avocado tree (seriously the best tree!) to write a book or heading to the local craft store to stock up on all the necessary items to make my latest design.  Creativity is definitely in my DNA. It’s a passion I’ve carried with me my whole life and has flourished in many different avenues: from 13 years of planning and coordinating events at my children's elementary school, to being the "go to person" when friends & family needed help designing & decorating their homes and parties, to renovating and DIYing our ENTIRE home (my hubby and I are seriously one epic DIY team!), to learning woodworking and building skills so I can level up my creations.

Why is it that the things we are good at and passionate about are also the hardest things to put out into the world? It took me going through profound grief coupled with the onset of Covid (blah!) for me to come full circle and make a choice to FINALLY turn my passions into reality. In 2021, CJC debuted with an Etsy shop (something I had been wanting to do for years. It's a creative's dream shop). I began putting my wood working and design skills to use and connecting with other amazing creatives. Then one day a bride who had been following me sent me a message and asked if I would design her the wedding of her dreams. With an excitement like I had never known, I dove heart  first into making her dreams a reality! That creative spark went off and my life has never been the same. In. All. The. Best. Kind. Of. Ways.

Connecting with my clients aka family, and making their dreams a reality are hands down my favorite parts of this business. Bringing joy to others is at the foundation of my business. Giving just happens to be my love language, so you can count on lots of love and extras coming your way :)

I had the pleasure of working with Joey at a wedding held at Rancho Las Lomas, and I couldn't be more impressed! From start to finish, she was a joy to collaborate with. During the planning phase, her communication was top-notch. She made sure that everything ran smoothly for me as a vendor.
