Fun facts about me:

*Married 25 years/28 years together

*Boy mom x 3 : (23, 20, 15) My family tribe is everything to me!!

*My hubby and I have renovated our entire house, DIY is the best!

*Faves: design, crafting, cooking/baking, nature, hiking, road trips, Paso Robles, coffee, wine, chocolate, music (especially John Mayer!)

*Biggest adventures: My husband and I hiked Half Dome in Yosemite and also did a 5 day backpacking trip there.

*UCI graduate: majored in Education and English Literature (Jane Austen and the Romantic poets are my absolute favorite!)

*I've ran 4 half marathons

*I'm a country girl at heart: If I could live anywhere you'd find me in a farmhouse in Montana with lots of acres and farm animals too:)

It all started with a hat. For so many years I had been carrying around a head full of creative visions and a heart full of love for all things handmade and unique. I mean I had already DIYed my entire house with my hubby, and had been decorating, designing and creating for my family and friends for many years. Heck, I even ran events at my boys' elementary school for 13 years! But it was an actual hat that spoke to me in a vulnerable moment of my life where I was actually searching for myself (have you ever had that I was made for more feeling?). Leave it to a crafty person to find themselves in one of the many amazingly therapeutic aisles of a Hobby Lobby store. But yep! There it was on the endcap. A rustic, embroidered, faded black hat with the vibrant words “Chasing my Joy”. Funny how something so insignificant like a hat can bring you a moment of much needed clarity or make your heart beat so fast (or at least much faster than the many hidden treasures in that special store I’ve found through the years). It was a hat for crying out loud, but it became the necessary and pivotal thing that propelled me to unleash all the ideas, love and creativity I had been carrying within myself for years. THAT HAT presented itself to me….called my name and reminded me of who I was meant to be, my inner JOYS, and what I was meant to share with the world. When a piece of yourself echoes back to you, that is not by chance...it’s a joyful calling, a reminder of all we are capable of.  That random,  not needing anything trip to that favorite store of mine was the day my passions, abilities, and dreams converged into a beautiful vision.  It was time to put my talents out into the world. In that moment, Chasing Joy Creations was born.
